The inception of the Gilbert Farmers Market in October 2010 marked the beginning of a local tradition that has grown exponentially over the past decade. Starting with less than 30 vendors, the market has now flourished to host over 100 vendors, showcasing the community’s rich agricultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit. GFM’s founding mission was to foster local sustainability, promote healthy eating, and provide an educational platform about the origins of food. Through direct interactions with vendors, visitors gain insight into how their food is grown and made, reinforcing the connection between community and sustenance.
